Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information The Snowball collects, how we use it, and what we will never do with it. The short version: we do not sell your data. Ever.

The Snowball (thesnowball.co) is a ServiceNow tutorial blog and developer resource. We also publish the Sourdough Chrome Extension, a productivity tool that is free to install for ServiceNow professionals.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information, and only what is necessary to operate the site:

• Analytics data — page views, referral sources, and general browsing behavior collected in aggregate via privacy-friendly analytics. This data is anonymized and never tied to an individual.
• Newsletter email address — if you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address to send you content updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Contact form submissions — if you reach out to us directly, we retain your message and email address only to respond to your inquiry.

3. What We Never Do

• We never sell your personal data to any third party.
• We never share your email address or personal information with advertisers.
• We never use your data to build advertising profiles.
• We never send spam. If you subscribe, you only receive content relevant to ServiceNow.

4. The Sourdough Chrome Extension

Sourdough is free to install and helps ServiceNow professionals manage their instances more efficiently. Regarding data:

• The extension operates locally within your browser and your ServiceNow instance.
• We do not collect, transmit, or store any ServiceNow instance data, credentials, or records from the extension.
• No personal or instance data is ever sent to our servers.
• ExtensionPay manages trial and subscription status. No ServiceNow instance data is sent to ExtensionPay.

Sourdough has a free tier. Pro costs $5/month after a 14-day no-card trial. Install the extension first, then upgrade inside it through ExtensionPay. Paid features do not change the data practices above.

5. Cookies

We use only functional cookies necessary to operate the site (such as theme preference). We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the site (such as hosting and content delivery). These services process data only as necessary to deliver the site and are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose. We do not integrate advertising networks or data brokers.

7. Data Retention

Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form data is retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be tied to any individual.

8. Your Rights

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
